FAQS About the Practice

What sets Dr. Ruth Schriebman apart is years of practical experience counseling people. Since earning her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 1999 from Antioch University, Dr. Ruth has helped hundreds of people from her comfortable office in the Riviera Village of Redondo Beach, California, just a few steps away from the white sand and blue Pacific.

Dr. Ruth holds several other degrees and professional certifications. In August 2012, her Doctoral Dissertation was accepted, and Ruth Schriebman graduated with Doctorate of Psychology in Marriage Family Therapy from Ryokan College in Los Angeles. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) since 2003, Dr. Schriebman has been providing counseling services to people from all over Southern California. Along side her private practice, Dr. Ruth also assists South Bay cancer patients and their families through the Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach.

Unique among her contemporaries, in 2005 Dr. Ruth earned her certification in Thanatology, which is the Study of death, dying and bereavement. Dr. Ruth works closely with the family members of a Loved One who died by suicide, and has counseled many during their time of grief.

Dr. Schriebman offers counseling in the follows areas:

  • Grief and Bereavement
  • Critical and Chronic Illness
  • Support for Families of a Loved One who died by suicide
  • Individual or Group Marriage and Family Counseling
  • Other Issues As Needs May Arise
If one word could describe how Dr. Ruth manages her practice that word would be ‘simplicity’. There is no soulless Contact Form on this website, nor are there anonymous email links. Dr. Ruth makes appointments the old fashioned way — by telephone — personally herself. As Dr. Ruth says herself, “My style of therapy is to work with the patient as a team while navigating the therapeutic process."
